440 jd

i looked at 440 jd loader dozer for sale. left side final drive was taken off to be fixed but was lost what else fits? was told loader&dozer has different #teethon pinion right side on this machine is 13 any info. would be helpful

I can't help with your problem, although I had never heard that there was a difference between dozer and loaders. Only in year, but I'm probably wrong.

What I wonder though is how does someone lose something the size of a final drive. Mark:

It is not an issue of loader versus dozer but rather of engine and year. Diesel and early gas crawlers used bull gear with 55 teeth and pinion with 14 teeth. Later gas only crawlers (after serial #444128) used bull gear with 56 teeth and pinion with 13 teeth.
