I have a 1010 JD crawler that was stored in a building over the winter and the left side streering clutch is stuck and will not steer to the left. Is it that the clutch plate sticks to the pressure plate causing this to happen. If so how is the best way to fix the problem.
Thanks!

Larry, the steering clutch is made up of a series of fiber disks and steel disks. the fiber disks are "keyed to fit into the shaft leading from the transmission and the steel disks have tabs that fit into the brake drum. If the steering clutch won't declutch there could be 2 reasons first it is out of adjustment or moisture got into the assembly and rusted. Try the simple fix first check the adjustment. It that doesn't work then working the machine a little may break it free. If all fails you could be looking at rebuilding the clutch pack. Moisture inside the clutch causes the fiber disks to swell and causes rust
