Has anyone out there ever tried using a 1010 final drive on a 440 ? I think in an earlier post Lavoy says the case is the same but the clutch shaft is a different length , so can the shaft be changed or are we getting into that twilight zone of " maybe/maybe not " ?
My final got into the " Wonderful one horse shay " situation where a bearing came apart and then other stuff happened so it looks to me replacing might be wallet-friendlier than rebuilding
Any info or leads on a final available in the New Hampshire area would be great !

KenP...I've heard of those guys in Antrim and have their number but had sort of forgotten about them , so that's a good idea . I'm not in a huge rush but hope to get it back together before winter and that's always looming in the distance.
Lavoy...Some real words of wisdom there , nothing like tempting the fates is there ? I thought if I got a replacement I'd put new bearings and seals , does that make sense ?
