Hi: I just checked my 420c. The plug has a 5/8" square head. I used a 5/8" open end wrench on it and had good solid purchase. To try and help with your challenge, I then took a crow bar and wedged it between the foot well and the box end of the wrench and slid a 4" socket extension behind it to give me a fulcrum. I had lots of leverage and could probably have tapped on the head with a hammer while applying torque to get it moving. My plug appears slightly tapered, so getting it moving a bit will mean that the task will get easier with each partial revolution. Hope this helps. Paul

If it is really stubborn, you can buy a double square socket which will let you put an extension on to get the ratchet up where you can pull on it.

Thanks to all for the advice. I used a 5/8 wrench, pry bar, PB blaster and a prayer and it gave up the fight. Now going to put in 6 1/2 qts of gear oil and get to pushing some dirt.
