Parts needed for 1010

Post by LadyBug » Thu Jun 08, 2006 9:00 am

Hello Lavoy
We've finally discovered the steering problem on our 1010. We need a left clutch fork shaft and the steering control rod.
It seems the set screw on the clutch fork broke off. That allowed the fork to slip out of the clutch spring. Duncan has to cut the shaft in order to get it out because there's no room to get at the broken screw. Besides, the detent at the top of the shaft is badly worn. The adjustment screw on the control rod was welded in place sometime in the past so it needs replacing.
Do you have these parts available?

Thanks

That is kind of what I was guessing it was when I was talking to him. I am pretty sure I don't have either piece, but let me check.

Thanks for the replies. We've taken the shaft to a machine shop and are having a new one made.
Howard, if you do have the steering control rod, we'd sure be interested in buying it from you. Let me know...
Also, we have one other question. We didn't know enough to order the pressure plate gauge when we ordered the new pressure plate Lavoy. Can you give us an approximate measurement we should set it at? Our old one measures 1 1/4" from the top of the finger to the base plate. The new one measures 7/8"
