New to Forum get to know me get to know you

Post by JDjoePA » Tue Feb 21, 2012 8:25 pm

New Member have a 1963-64 2010 dozer tried to keep it simple . It is a gas model HLR style shift and as from what i have been reading it needs (as i get into it more)a left side steering clutch repair imagine that! I can not help to wonder if all previous owners kept making too many left turns ? I wiil try to share info as i go along. I have the machine of the ground the left side track apart at the master pin( thanks Lavoy) the spocket almost off the hub,,found the sweet spot on spocket but may have to turn hub a few degrees more. also have brake band assy. almost out(What a hoot that was) and just about ready to take the top casting off where steering lever goes though casting .It seems like a lot however the bright spot is the engine has good oil pressure (about 40psi at an idle when warm) and hydraulics, rollers and track, look like they have a fair amount of life in them yet . I have been looing at many posts and have got alot of good info . I hope to be able to repay this forum JdjoePa

Hi Joe- welcome to the board.

There is a wealth of information on the 2010 crawlers as you may have found. In particular I would point you to do an author search for "Pammark" and find the thread with photo logs of rebuilding his 2010. He has some really good photos of the steering clutch/brake replacement for his 2010.

Never be afaird to ask any questions- we are glad to point you in the right direction :D
