Taking the sag out of the track.

Post by Adriano » Sun Apr 15, 2012 6:51 pm

I through a track on my 440, I had to separate the track to put it back on. My question is, do I take all the sag out of the track or leave some?
Should I take the sag out ever time I use it, or is it okay to have a little sag.
I don't want to through a track again as I'm work deep in the woods.
Any help would appreciated.

The tracks should always have about an inch of sag give or take.

Place a straight 2x4 across the top of your tracks. The sag is usually measured from the distance between the front idler to the next support. Just remember to do it when it is hot out. Also tightening your tracks can wear them out, so dont feel the need that tight tracks are better than tracks with some sag to them.

Over 2 inches of sag is too much.
