1010 filter numbers

Post by JimG » Wed Nov 21, 2012 7:12 pm

Hey all, great board you've got here. Just bought a really beat 1010 floor shift diesel dozerwith a manual 6 way blade and an 8a gearmatic winch. Wanted one of these machines since I worked on an old cow farmers 1010 about 8 yrs ago when I was a tech at John Deere. Anyway, just started working on my machine and want to do a proper service. Does anyone have a filter cross reference or fuel and oil filter numbers for this old girl. My local JD dealership is completely clueless and the dealership I used to work at is quite a distance away. Was hoping I could get filters at Napa or my local mom and pop store .
Appreciate any help in advance.

Jim

welcome aboard.... spin-on or canister for oil? canister oil napa# is 1148 spin on oil is napa# 1243....fuel is napa# 3241 canister type.... if you have spin on type oil then fuel should be napa#3166 both types of fuel filters take 2 of that #.....if you have canister type oil i would look for post ser# 42000 filter assemblies oil would then be full flow and both oil and fuel would be much easier to install ....on my 2010 i had canister type and it was almost impossible to stop them from leaking so i put a case 480c/580c spin on assembly on and it worked out great looks almost like it came from JD with that filter set up and you can get the starter off and on without taking the fuel filter off
2010 with 622 dozer with mod. 35 ripper and a 2010 with 622 dozer bought in 1969 and a 2010 loader with drott and mod. 36 ripper

Exactly what I needed, thank you. Have canister filters on both fuel and oil. Will start looking for spin on parts since it sounds like keeping these things from leaking is quite an issue.
