My 40c was 12 v when I got it and when I say 12v i mean none of the 6v stuff worked and the last owner put a 12v battery in it .So I repaired all the 6v stuff and now when it get below 30deg outside the 6v battery will not turn it over fast anough to start it.But when its warm out it will start so now when cold out i have to put a 12v battery in it to start it .
So what do i need to do to fix this problem .
12v back to 6v what a mistake
Rebuild the starter, check all connections, 650CCA or higher battery, #1 or better cables. Doing this I have started more than I can remember at colder temps than that.

I must agree with the rest. That 6 volt should wind right over. Here is my 420 when it was only 10 degrees here in Maine on 6 volt.

you might try putting a battery trickler on the 6 volt and let it recharge to full capacity for a couple two or three days. Once it is fully recharged you shouldn't have a problem. I run all 6 volts on four different crawlers and have found this to be a problem if only running for a short time in real cold weather
