440 ICD loader counterwights for snow removal

Post by Paul Harney » Thu Nov 26, 2015 10:28 am

I just removed the counterweights on my 440icd with 831 loader to fix a hydraulic fitting. Anyone have an opinion on weather or not to reinstall them for snow removal? Seems like it would just be extra weight to drag around for the winter. They'll go back on for summer either way.

Thanks!

Try it, then decide. I'd look to keep my machine level with enough counterweight so that all the rolls were sharing the loads generated. This also balances undercarriage wear. Paul
