Hi,
I don't rightly know. At least I never measured the amount. The instructions were simple:
Pull the RH bung, which is lower. Pour oil into the LH bung (which is easier to use a funnel with) until it flows out the RH one. Put bungs back.
Use hydraulic fluid, like JD Hygard or any brand of JD 303 equivalent from any tractor supply store. I am not sure what all those extra additives in ATF might do that is unwanted. ATF today is nothing like what ATF was in 1959. Hydraulic fluid is. ATF might make the clutches slip.
Stan
Edit: I changed it from 'no one knows' because, of course, Lavoy knows!

About a gallon. I always buy a gallon jug of HyGard or equivalent, and that usually does it. It might be 5 quarts, I don't have my service manual to check it handy.

Hi,
I buy it in 5 gal pails, so never had a good reference. Same with the gear oil. Pour or pump until full.
If they give me a 'full' hole for it to come out of, I don't need a measured amount.
