Hi people
Thinking about changing my 1010 dozer to negative ground from positive
Has anyone done this in the past ?
What I've found out so far, I have to change to a GM alternator
Switch coil wires around, and new ignition switch and amp meter.
Would there be a wiring schematic around for this?
Any help would be appreciated.
Hoping this will help with the hard starting.

Hard starting is usually too small of cables or bad connections or bad starter .... IF you want to go with alternator then yes you need to go with NEG ground ... NO need to change IGN. switch NO need to change AMP meter only need to reverse wires (but it has to be 60 amp meter OR put in a shunt if lighter meter) and as you said change coil leads around.......
Check the voltage at coil when running and also when cranking ..... look closely at the coil and see it it says use an external resistor ...... is the key switch OEM? and report back
