That should take you to a picture of the distributor that I'm trying to convert. I purchased two after market conversion setups both cheaper. One was for Ford 8 cylinder one was for a 4 cylinder it was supposed to fit I had to make some adoptions but when I hook it up it doesn't work and I can't bench test it and get it to work that way either the pickup doesn't seem to respond to the magnetic wheel at all so one was real cheap with one for review on Amazon the other one was more expensive but it didn't seem to work either this is a negative ground setup and I should be able to bench test it or simulate everything rotating hooked up to a DC power supply and have an arc jump from the coil wire to ground. I'm about to drop 250 bucks on the conversion kit at Amazon which is ridiculous cuz it's got to be $20 worth of parts or maybe I'm missing something. Any help would be helpful LOL. If someone knows away I'm quite handy I can machine something or whatever I was thinking about bastardizing Chevy distributor and changing the shaft so that it's like the one in my hand and then just run everything off of that but I'd rather not remove every other tooth on an 8 cylinder distributor etc I just want this thing dependable again thank you .

I can't open your picture. It can help if you tell what you are working on, I am guessing this is for the 2010 you have posted about before. If it is the 2010, your post should be on the Early Models board.
Right now you haven't given any real info to work with. Brand, part number, distributor the 4-cylinder kit is supposed to fit, etc. Was there a wiring diagram and instructions with the kit?
If I was going to convert something to EI, I would call Pertronix and purchase a kit made for the distributor so as to start with parts that fit and the manufacturer's tech support behind it. I believe they may ask for the distributor number, and they will have coil and plug wire recommendations for proper operation and system life.

If you want it reliable, buy the correct kit designed for the distributor you have.
