I have found the same thing to be true lavoy. I've built tons of cylinders but not the first valve.

hey GaCatSkinner,
you may be able to hear the cylinder if it is bypassing.
have someone help you or use a rope to pull the lever while you stand near each of the cly. with your ear ready.
you should be able to tell.
sometimes they will even vibrate as well as squeal.
i forgot to add, the cylinder being tested must have enough resistance to MAKE it "bypass". (you know what i mean).
440icd/602/8a,,440icd/831/ripper,,440icd/831/3pt.,misc. 440 parts, i have 5 of these now, but i can stop anytime :cry:
