Hey Lavoy, couple quick questions about rebushing and pinning my tracks.
I was looking at them yesterday, when resetting a lost track and noticed slop between the bushing and chain link. I've talked to local companies, as in, 1 1/2 hrs one way and 3 1/2hrs the other about bushing and pinning my tracks. They all laugh at the vintage, and some can't do that small of track. Anyways there are a couple takers who have asked if the links are good. How do I inspect the links themselves for serviceability, regarding wear? they all look the same to me on the outer surfaces. I imagine they can just tack weld the pins and bushings in if need be on the internally worn links. I don't want to go through the effort of hauling these spare tracks to find that the are useless. The other more expensive option is to down my crawler and take all four of my track chains and get them to pick and choose the best parts to repin and bush.
thanks for your insight, PJL
