MC fan shaft bearing and seal

Post by kilohertz » Sat Jun 13, 2015 12:34 pm

Hi guys,

Finally found a 6 V generator and went to put it on and found out that the generator belt is a different size need to change that out got into it all removed the radiator and found that the fan shaft seal is leaking at the back. I have the whole fan assembly out now and it looks like there's a little bit of play in the shaft. I don't see a seal indicated on the parts diagram. Is there a bearing inside there or is it a bronze bushing? Nothing is indicated on the parts diagram.

Has anybody taken one of these apart and repaired it or am I looking at buying a new one?

Thanks

I purchased a complete aftermarket fan with bearing for my M.It is a sealed bearing.Been on there for a year now with no issues.I believe the price was around $65.Perhaps that might be an option.
