1st.. Thanks for the add to the forum... I have been checking out your web site quite a bit since moving to the country (in Northern Ontario Canada) researching before looking into getting some much needed equip for life on 80 acres.
2nd a little introduction, my name is Darin, I've been a railroad mechanic for 29 years.. and counting, so my experience wrenching and fabricating on stuff is something I'm sure will lend itself well to this "hobby". I have a beautiful 1200 sq ft shop...(not a garage.. we have a separate one) with all the goodies.. eg: lathe, mill, press, welders etc.. etc.. which brings me to the 3rd part. I've pulled the trigger on a well running 440IC with a near complete parts 440IC plus a truck n trailer load of "spare parts" which included a winch, skid plates, final drives, distributor, alt, starter, transmission, rad, various gears n sprockets, idlers and shafts. I think I did pretty good on the deal as my guess is.. I could break pretty much every part once.. lol.. . The serial # on the running machine is 452697.. which from reading here is a '59. funny part is the data plate was below the operators console, which from what I gather here.. should of been a diesel ??... there is no plate on the bell housing.. that or the layer of silver paint could be hiding it... if I can figure it out.. I will post some pics of the 2 ol gals sided by side... so you more informed can enlighten me on this new relm I'm embarking on... again thanks... (sorry I posted this in the wrong place)
