Scary moment with my 420c.

Post by dr1zsk1 » Mon Sep 28, 2015 9:42 am

I was helping a friend cleaning out a tank on his property down here in Texas.

The crawler was running at normal temperature but it died and it sounded like it had run out of fuel after I went over a bump.

Thinking it was out of fuel I open the gas cap and fuel literally spued into the air it went up about 4 feet and just with scary scary scary.

is that crawler supposed to have a vented gas cap or is that pressure and normal?
If man can break it man can fix it .. it just takes time and money.

Hi,

No, that is not normal. They are supposed to have a vented cap.

There should also be a vent line from top of tank to a line that vents out below the front of the tank. Maybe it is clogged. Pat
