As I remember it, there are adjustment ports on both sides of the housing. The forward port is on the left near the bell housing and the reverse is on the right back near the trans. housing.

Hi,

Yes, that is correct.

The ports have barrel bung plugs. When you pull them out, you will see large adjusting nuts which are held in place by spring loaded pins. Using one screwdriver, push in the pin. Then you can use another to tighten the adjusting nut to put more spring pressure onto the clutch pack.

I am not where my manuals are right now, so I do not recall how much force is supoosed to be on the end. IIRC it is 40 pounds, a bit more than on the 420 because you have linkage and the 420 is a single, long lever.

On a loader you probably don't have room or can see to use 2 screwdrivers you can reach in with your fingers push in the pin with 1 finger n turn the nut with the other cant remember every thing with out the book in front of me but I think it is more like 20 pounds of pressure and also for adjusting the reverse side I think you have to have the clutch in that is the one on the right side setting in the seat good luck

Hi,

I just looked it up. 25-35 pounds of pull at the end of the lever. Have to adjust the reverse clutch first, then the forward.
