MC questions
Working on restoring a 52 MC.
Was both the model 60 and 61 blades offered for the MC?
Did they come with only one headlight on the left side?
And according to stiner they switched from white faced gauges to black mid 52, does anyone know the cerial number this changed at?
Thanks Ron

Hi,
The MC had the MC1000 tool carrier. That could be set either forward or rearward facing. And, there was a blade option.
I had the next part messed up. I thought I recalled the 60 blade not coming out until the 40 and the 61 with the 420.
All M variants only had one front light. And one rear, but that could be swiveled forward on its bracket. There were only two lamps total because that is all the current a 3-brush generator has for output.
I don't think there is a particular serial number for the white to black gauge face change. That is one of those things that would have been a running change with a period where some machines had either as they went along the lines. Some build stations still using up white, while others had already opened up boxes of the new black ones.

MC60 and MC1000 are what came out with the MC, #61 will fit, but is quite heavy for an MC.

Is this the same for the three rol 40?
I have two MC's in making one out of and one has the 60 and the other has a 61.
Just so I'm on the same page the 60 is a simple inside the track frame straight blade and the 61 is basically the same but can be angled?
I appreciate the education.

61 is a little heavier blade, but similar. On 3 roller 40 it was called a number 1000 tool carrier, then later became number 1100 tool carrier through 4 and 5 roller crawlers.

Yeah, they have some neat track frame cover type deals ahead of the cylinders, and use a pressure relief system under the belly, I assume to keep from breaking cylinders.

Nothing I have other than the manual, would have to dig to find it. I have a pair of the covers, but they are not here either.
