Just saw a two piece hood for a 440 on eBay, I've seen one before and thought someone had cut it. Was this an option? And why?

IT says it was used on a side boom tractor that could explain why 2 piece
2010 with 622 dozer with mod. 35 ripper and a 2010 with 622 dozer bought in 1969 and a 2010 loader with drott and mod. 36 ripper
