New to me 1957 420C

Post by jibs1723 » Wed Feb 03, 2016 11:34 am

Hi Everyone,
I recently acquired a 1957 420C with a greenville steel car company loader on it. I was told it ran and drove when parked a few years ago. Get it home and the engine is stuck. Got it freed up and running and go to take it off the trailer and find out it has no reverse. So after pulling the top cover i find out the gear on the main input shaft that goes to the PTO and for reverse has the teeth broken off. My guess from hitting something with his brush hog. The issue I am having is finding the input shaft. John Deere part number M2342T. I can find the cluster gear which i also need but was wondering if anyone knew where I could source the input shaft? Also, I'm trying to get pics up soon to try and show off haha. Thanks for any help.

I would appreciate that! Its the early 4 speed. Prior to the 100000 serial number change if that helps at all.
