Hi,

Having three oversizes is nice. :)

Using a bore gauge will tell you how worn the holes are, and then you go to the next oversize piston. Most folks just take the block to a machine shop and they measure it as part of the process.

Cam is no worry, you will need to know what size mains and rods. $100 is probably low, but I am assuming a complete rebuild with head components.
They are usually .020 or better out in the center of the bore, if you have that much of a ridge, .045 might be marginal. I have had very, very few that I have had to go to .090, and maybe only 1 that went to .125.
Rod and main bearings are available in .010, .020, and .030 undersize.

Hi Kevin. You probably got your problem solved long ago but, just in case, I am in New Brunswick as well and went through a complete rebuild of my 40c engine, which is similar, several years ago. I had the work done at Engine Rebuilding and Supply here in Saint John. Total cost at that time was around $1200 but probably higher now. The motor later got water in it (don't ask) and had to be taken apart again and have sleeves installed. Luckily, all parts were salvaged and cost for sleeves and installation and clean up was about $600. If you want to talk let me know and I will give you my phone number. dave.
have 40c 4 roller crawler, 1927 Ford T Touring car, 1931 Ford A Roadster, 1951 Standard Vanguard Saloon. Never a dull moment!
