1010 C # 26667 Diesel ---- year ????

My grandad rebuilt this whole machine before he went in for back surgery in 1975 , Well he never recovered enough to drive it again

It has been sitting in the barn 40 years

Motor is froze

I am hoping to at least give a MMO soak and see it it will turn over before i part it out

How and what is the best way to get MMO into the cylinders ?

So i take of the Flanged line and unbolt the two bolts on each side of the injector ? , Will i be able to just direct pour into port ?

Sorry not a diesel mech here and just hoping to get by with info on this site before investing in new manuals unless it frees up ( Im sure they are somewhere here but i never asked about them )

You may also be able to pull the glow plugs instead- at least that way you don't have to bleed the fuel system. The problem will be getting excess oil back out which would be easier through the injector hole. Just remember that both the injector and glow plug screws into the precombustion chamber which is a delicate piece and not the head directly.

FYI, I think Lavoy and others would probably say after sitting that long you are better off pulling the head and seeing what is going on with the rings rather than taking a blind chance on loosening up with oil. Another potential option is using one of those flexible video inspection cameras to see what is going on in there.

I like the "pull the head" method. That way you can see how badly the cylinders might be rusted and apply some penetrating fluid directly onto the pistons. You can also clean the cylinders with some steelwool. I've been using a relatively new product. I think it's a CRC brand that sorta freezes whatever you spray it on and I think it really does work.

I do not think you will find any inspection camera that will come close to fitting a glo-plug or injector hole. Just saying.

I agree it wouldn't fit a glow plug hole, but it might fit an injector hole because it will fit a small diameter spark plug hole - the camera end is supposedly 8.5 mm in diameter.
