Fitting a winch to a 40C

Post by BradE » Thu Mar 10, 2016 9:50 am

I am wondering how I could fit a winch to my 40C and use the standard PTO shaft to run it. What winch should I be looking at? (Had an old abused Braden, but it was too far gone to repair) I am assuming I would have to create some sort of bracket to hold the winch in place. Since there can be a lot of force while winching, any thoughts about the weight of the steel framework I'll need to fabricate to hold it in place? I have a Koenig winch on the front of my '50 Jeep, and I could use that one, but I don't think it's rugged enough. Thanks.
