Nose mounted hydraulic tank on 440?

Post by jackhdn » Fri Mar 25, 2016 5:54 am

When the 440 has the hydraulic tank mounted behind the grill how does it get filled? I have not seen one completely assembled and I don't see how you would fill it. Did the loaders have a nose with a door in it for filling?

Thanks.

I did not think you would have reached that space very easily through that door. Thanks Lavoy.

Next question. Currently I have a pto powered pump I've used to run the winch. I am going to do away with the winch and mount a Bradco 511 backhoe. I'm thinking of removing the pto pump to enable mounting the backhoe closer to the tractor. I have the backhoe mounts from the parts 440 but have not tried positioning the backhoe there yet so the clearance might not be a problem anyway. Are there any reasonably priced pumps I could mount off the front where the hydreco would go?

When I was looking for new pumps I think a replacement Cessna was decent price. Lavoy probably knows better though.

Just a little heads up. If you're talking about the hydraulic tank for the diesel 440, the fill hole is extremely small, so don't start dumping it in fast or you'll have fluid all over the place. It's a long slow process to fill that tank up.
