Yakima Works dozer
Yakima Works dozer
Hello all. I was wondering if anyone had any leads or ideas on how I can restore my old worn out Yakima works dozer set up? Thanks
Assuming you mean an MC1000 tool carrier? Beyond that, not nearly enough info to form any real answer other than complete tear down and rebuild.

hello old MC and welcome to the board.
you may want to use the search feature and just start reading all the pertinent articles.
MC's and related are a bit rare but there are some members who are on the board, just not everyday. hang in there and see what develops.

Ok thanks for the info. I will try your search here. The adaptor plates on the dozer blade are wore out and im fabing up new ones. The lifting arms off of the hydraulic cylinders are sloppy and have been repaired several times from the looks of it. The biggest problem im having is that I can not get the angle crank to turn so I can increase the angle of the blade. I see a lot of the Yakima arms welded up on line. I was just hoping that I wouldn't have to do that. I wish I could post picture of it here. Its a great little machine. I just want to make it nice again with what it was equipped with.
All you can do it tear it down and repair/replace whatever needs it. Not a quick process, but they work great when you are done.

Thanks Lavoy. Yes the tear down starts this weekend. Got a ton of parts this week off the internet. Grill, hydraulic pump, main clutch, skid pan, radiator, carb kit and may need to get a steer clutch to but going to wait till I make it more functional. Went to Norco and got more gas and O2 for the torch too lol.http://s765.photobucket.com/user/OldMC/ ... sort=3&o=0

To get the arms off you need to remove the angle adjusters. Is your problem the bearings (on the adjusters) or the threads? Remove the bearing snap rings and pull the adjusters with the bearings up (if you can) so that only the threads give you resistance. You may have to turn a few turns counterclockwise based on the blade angle in the photo. Put the toolbar on blocks so the blade is free to "fall" while pulling the bearings, then remove the blocks, let the blade down some, and unscrew counterclockwise.
