420c help

Post by kevencyr » Fri May 06, 2016 2:40 pm

need to replace my pressure plate, clutch and throw-out bearing. was looking at my parts book, but got more then 1 options.
i got AM227T (c) and AM2676T (h,i,s,t,u,v,w) for pressure plate
then got AM3791T(c) and (AM2575T(h,i,s,t,u,v,w) and finally,
got M3549T and M4374T for carrier. how can i found out witch one is the good one? aslo got a carrier with a grease nipple for my parts one. can i put that on my other 420 since the other doesn't have that option. thanks

Sorry, can't help but where did you find a parts book for yours, I have a 1949 420 and a service manual, that's, all a part book would be great.

Some of the 420 wheeled tractors had continuous running PTOs thus the reason for the different clutch parts.
nothing crawles like a deere

Hi,

And.....the crawlers were also spec'd as having live PTO as well.

But.....to get there, it isn't a 2-stage clutch pedal. It is by yanking back on both steering levers!

Yeah, you get to stop with the PTO still running. Not quite the same thing, though.....
