steering clutch slipping

Post by sbarr » Mon Sep 11, 2006 7:36 pm

The left side clutch on my 420 is starting to slip sometimes ,it will be working fine one minute then slipping the next.Sometimes steering right it won't drive it enough to turn.Is this a sign of worn discs or oily discs.

could be either check and make sure you have about an 1 1/2" play in your steering lever before your throw out bearing makes contact

Ya there is free play in the steering levers, both sides adjusted the same ,what is strange is it will slip only sometimes not always.

I think sometimes the clutches get oil soaked and then when they get heated up the oil comes to the surface and then it slips could also be a weak pressure plate

also make sure your brake petal is back all the way that can make them slip to.
