recoil track spring

Post by shugy368 » Sun Jun 05, 2016 8:00 am

Any ideas on this, My spring measures 1/4" shy of the factory specs, should that be a concern or chalk it up to years and wear, I can't get the adjusting nut to budge, soaked for three days still nothing? Spring pressure must be holding, how to release pressure so I can adjust if necessary? Thanks for anything 8)

Sorry Jim  I had about 8 things going on here at once and didn't proof read. It's a JD- L 420-C. The springs are about a 1/4" off factory specs, big deal? I am not sure, the problem is the adjusting nut will not budge, do I worry about or is a 1/4" no biggee?

I would not worry about it.
