Folks:
I just drained and refilled the transmission on my 1954 40C. The manual says 6.5 quarts, and I estimated the number of ounces each pump stroke on the bucket of 90 weight produced. When I got to the total, I checked the oil level and it was right up to the threads of the fill spout on the transmission.
Question: Is this an OK level, or have I over filled it? If I've overfilled it, about how far down from the threads should the oil level be?

Hi,
That is about right. At the bottom of the threads in the fill hole.
