Spent part of a day on the phone and the internet trying to find out info on repair or replacement of the Hydreco pump on a customers #90 loader. Found out from Hydreco that they still make the pump. Called a distributor, and found out the pump is way, way over $1000, so now I am not quite so enthused.

Second quote was worse by at least $50. SOOOOOOOOOOOOOO, looks like for about $260 + freight, you can put in new bearings, sealing rings, and seal kit.
OR for $1500 give or take, you can get a new pump. Given the internal condition of this pump, I really don't see any reason not to rebuild one.
Another lesson here may be that if you have a crawler with a loader or otherwise have the crank driven pump, keep your oil clean and in good shape. Kind of makes you wish they had put a filter in there somewhere.
