420 final drive question

Post by mc_mike » Wed Sep 13, 2006 6:10 pm

I am redoing the final drives on my basket case 420 that I just had to buy and I have a question. When I got the crawler one final drive was in pcs, I have all new bearings, seals, etc. Now my question, on the axle shaft , the thrust washer that goes against the large gear, part number M1005T, was that included in all 420 and 40 final drives. I can't find the one that came with the 420. I can order one, but I have a spare 40 final drive off of a 5 roller and I took it apart to get the thrust washer and there was no washer in there. Was the thrust washer included in all finals? Do I need the washer assuming I can get preload?

Maybe this doesn't make sense to anyone but I thought I would ask.
