Idler rebuild

Post by shugy368 » Fri Jul 15, 2016 7:46 pm

Hi all, been awhile since I've been here. Rebuilding my right hand idler assembly with a lot of help from Lavoy, bless his little heart! Anyway one of the new/used brackets has a little ovaling where the shaft fits and I can't seem to get it to slip on. I micd it at 25.40 mm but it narrows slightly across the opposite dir- 90 deg. Does any body know if that piece is a sleeve I can press out and replace or do I put it in my drill press and drill it out to fit?
Oh JD 420-C that might help

They are often tight. If you can't get it to go with some mild force, take as little material off as possible, you want them tight.

Force is an amazingly dangerous tool!

I love force -- just sometimes too much!
If man can break it man can fix it .. it just takes time and money.
