A Project 1010C That Never Really Got Off the Ground

Post by dnormand25 » Fri Sep 02, 2016 1:48 pm

I had dreams of rebuilding a 1010c many years ago, but priorities change and now i am selling the property where this project is housed. Before I scrap the parts (I hate to do it), but the crawler is completely disassembled and its the easier option.

If anyone is interested in specific parts, let me know and we can work out a fair cost plus shipping.

I have collected various new replacement parts (roller bushings, various bearings for transmission and drive rebuilds, gaskets, seals). I've had the engine block cleaned (it was a replacement 2010 gas engine), the sleeve deck, honed, bought new oversized pistons, bearings as well as all the available engine gasket kits. I haven't had anything done to the head, its in the same state as when it was pulled

The rest of the tractor was fairly complete when i bought it, but the steering clutches were stuck. I purchased all new brake bands, fiber and steel plates to rebuild both sides. As i said its now completely disassembled so all of the sheet metal chassis, tracks, brackets, gas tank, fixed front blade (its an early model so no three-way blade) and grille, ect. are there and available. The track frame had a really bad weld that attached the cross member bracket to the track rails, so that was completely disassembled to its individual pieces so i could have it done right. I realize that was a drastic measure, but it seemed necessary at the time. If anyone is interested let me know. The parts are housed an hour away, so it would take me a little while to verify numbers or take requested pictures.

Parts

Post by Mikeym70 » Fri Sep 02, 2016 2:29 pm

Hello - I would be interested in the clutch housings(both sides) and the fuel tank. Bottom rollers wouldn't kill me to have a few good ones laying around. I'm also missing a few minor parts to complete mine - you can call or text me at 570-506-7728

Thanks - Mike

What is the condition of the track pads and chains? Do you have an available photo?

Track pads and chains.

I can't comment an wear since the tracks are off and not under tension to be able to do a pin to pin measurement. I can get pictures if you would like, but it's about 45 minutes away from where I currently live, so please tell me specifically what and how you want me to photograph the tracks so that they completely answer you questions.

I am looking for how much wear is on the pads, wear on the sides of the chain, what the wear is like on the chain bushings where the sprocket would contact, and how much side to side movement or "snake" is in the chain. And the ability to twist the chain by holding the pads and twisting the pad to see what the pin wear is like. No rush at all, and thanks for your time!
