1010 gas starting issue

Post by MarteV » Sun Jan 01, 2017 4:00 pm

Have a pretty much restored 1010 gas crawler. Only have about 8 hrs. on it since its been done. has always started right up and ran good. Now after cranking 20-30 seconds fuel will drain through the copper or brass strainer on bottom of carb bowl. Took carb off everything is good , clean and needle and seat seem to be working. Has new cap and rotor points etc. Pulled a plug and its dry and has spark. Seems as if its not pulling fuel up through intake. Noticed a pretty good crack in exhaust manifold but looks to be just in exhaust part of manifold. Any ideas/suggestions?

Choke it for many revs., then check the plugs for moisture. If not wet ,check again for intake manifold crack and/or gasket leak. If no problem there, check compression.
