Rear weight sets for 440 with loader
Are the rear weight sets hard to find? Expensive? Very much to the bracket that hold them on the back of the crawler?

Lavoy,
I was afraid that may the case. Can a 440 with a loader be operated much at all safely without the rear weights? I know they were there to counter the extended load.
Or, would it be pretty useless without the full weight set except to play and shop?

wait? weight? what??
been popping fir stumps without counter weights and a wimpy slippy steering clutch. the trick is not to get enthusiastic. when the back end is a foot off the ground back off. high water table keeps the root ball fairly shallow, less than a foot thick. biggest one so far was two stumps intertwined. about four foot across, seven foot wide. came out with no problem. bump it to find the edge, get under it, roll, push and raise. heavy enough i had to drag it. alder stumps are a whole 'nuther story. best guess is i've lifted 1500 to 2000 pounds.
putting together a three point hitch a little at a time. first implement will be a rack for some suitcase weights.
