Hi,

Into what we used to call the Bit Bucket.

Back in the Olden Days when IBM roamed the Earth, computers were programmed with Hollerith Cards. AKA Punch Cards. They were 80 columns wide and they had places punched out where the zeros were.

The machine which did the punching had a keyboard for the human and was known as a Keypunch. It had a wastepaper can underneath to catch the little pieces of punched out card.

Each piece was called a Bit and the can they fell into was called the Bit Bucket!

I have a Bit Bucket left over from my IBM days. I use it as my trash can in my electronics shop.

Anyway, we still refer to lost data as having gone into the Bit Bucket.

Now, if this post makes it.....I entered the first paragraph and then used Edit for the rest.

Hi,

Yeah.

You submit the reply, then wait for the board to return you to the discussion, then hit the Edit button and write the rest.

Like this post. I hit Reply then entered Hi and Yeah. Then I submitted it and it went and I waited for the board to redirect me back to the thread.

Then, I hit Edit and wrote the rest of the post and submitted the edit....

Stan

Second Edit: And I see where that worked as I expected. :)
