I have a point problem. Could someone please tell which cylinder is the number one? what should my point gap be?

I have a 1958 420 crawler loader 2 cyl.

Thanks,
Chuck

#1 is the front cylinder. Rule of thumb back when I was in the automotive business was #1 was always the closest cylinder to the radiator.

The manual says the point gap should be .022 inch. Thanks for making me look as my rule of thumb is .020 inch.
