so now i have the extra engine..froze up but will see....tranny and reverser from the donor....will see what cleans up..donor was a loader and someone scavenged starter, rad hydraulics and hyd pump off it...
i do have extra steering lever gotta see which side it is....

re...starter

from looking at this starter....what i can see of it...looks like a gm starter and may well be a 12 volt...dang thing buried in there and can really only see the rear end of it.....certainly looks different than the 6volt on my jd40s wheeled tractor and donor engine don't have one!...will see one day when can get to it.

Twice the speed, and twice the energy, which is about 4 times as bad as far as potential damage.

Does someone know the resistance of a 6 V starter armature Or have one on hand and can measure it. I would validate what i have then (3 starters on hand). Thanks!

40 and 440 are different starters. If yours looks like a GM starter with a solenoid, then you must have a diesel.
