440 diesel
440 diesel
I may be in need of another hydraulic pump
My original hydreco is on the bench. Can it be rebuilt?
This time I'd like to stay with the original pump or equivalent, instead of going bigger.
Any recommendations on replacement, or a new used hydreco ?
I have the 51 how as well.
Suggestion's?
Time to fix it correctly this time.
Last time I put a much heavier unit on. Don't think I want to do that again.

Not a lot of options new other than a new Hydreco, and not sure the big pump is available. Used will be a little tough too to make sure you get the larger pump.

Re: 440 diesel
I'm OK with the smaller pump, slow hydraulics will not be a bad thing as long as the pressure is good, also would like the correct splines. Do you have anything to suit that?
I have an alignment issue and would like to go back to something that fits properly, needs to fit it in the grill like original.
Do they rebuild originals ? I'm thinking no.

Re: 440 diesel
I used to rebuild, but most the parts are obsolete, and a bearing and seal kit alone is several hundred dollars, so I just quit doing it.
1" 6 spline is available, but a little slow to get.

Re: 440 diesel
Ya, wow.
Can you recommend a pump you have used, I was thinking steal housings, 1-6 spline.
Do you have one that's good you'd be willing to part with ?
Thanks much

Re: 440 diesel
I have nothing left used, sorry. I have sold new pumps in the past, would have to do some research and get in touch with the manufacturer again and see if I can get more.

Complete Hydreco pump is AT 11372 T
Complete Cessna pump is AT 11608 T
Good luck

Re: 440 diesel
hey thank you.
my manuals are loaned out, so I couldn't look them up.
might get them back next week.
I did find a pump.
however its a 2 bolts style, any issues with 2 bolt instead of 4 ?
here it is
looks like its correct rotation= ccw
23 gpm at wide open I think, 1700rpms
I might look to see the curve chart yet.
but I know parker (at least many years ago), they seem like a good products.
can I get your thoughts on this pump ?

How are you going to adapt from 7/8-13T to 1"-6T for the shaft?

Re: 440 diesel
I have a hub for the 7/8 13 t I believe.
took it off loader, but needs new rubber bushings.
I don't like it, rubber came apart, ran off center, then took out the old pump splined shaft.
I think this hub was one designed for a wheel tractor, or maybe the old salami pump just took to much horse power to turn and wore out the rubber.
or more than likely my poor maintenance practices.
the salami pump was a bit bigger pump, maybe a lot.
I'm going to try and down size the pump just a little bit.
either way id like to find a better hub coupling that bolts to the crank pulley.
I've been pouring over the data that Parker Hannifin sent me on this pump at surplus center, I'm not quite sure those listed numbers are correct.
However I'm not a math genius, its all sort of based on gear length in the pump, the flow and rpm charts from parker don't quite line up. but close.
these pumps at surplus center could have been a special order through Parker.
P/S the drawing they also sent me has a giant C on the pump, as in Cessna, so I'm sure that some one makes a lot of pumps for each manufacturer.
also no front bearing, not sure that matters ? temp good to 180 degrees.
I will need to study the numbers more.
however the weight is a bit different as well. still could be special order.
yes there not the newer pumps
but still the PGP020 style parker pump.
I need to find out what gear width they are.
Any thoughts on the 2 bolt mount up ? as well as better type hub.
I'm starting to recall what an ordeal it was last time (years ago), to get a cheaper pump, and get the correct flow and pressure.
what a head ache.
but I'm trying to save some money, however I still want it to work sufficiently just could be a bit slower in reaction, it was a bit snappy.
even with a flow reducer installed and a pressure valve that would pop off when exceeding excessive pressures.
The current big salami has bad splines now, but it still good if I can turn it, but boy its really heavy and sticks way to far out.
thanks
