40c track pad fasteners

Post by fundytides » Mon Jul 10, 2017 5:48 am

I am going to install my pads on a new-to-me chain using Grade 8 bolts. Should I use lock nuts, hex nuts and lock washers or just hex nuts? Thanks.

I use grade 5, fine thread, and standard nuts. The grade 5 will stretch a little bit and seems to hold a little better for a little less money, but grade 8 will work too.
