420 center frame removal

Post by don racicot » Thu Aug 17, 2017 3:45 pm

Is it possible to remove the center frame with out removing the transmission/differential? I have the motor out but center from seems to be hung up when I try to pull it out forward. Service manual says the shaft coupling to the transmission input shaft is pinned to the trans shaft. Shouldn't the center frame shaft slide out forward?

If you have a reverser, the shifter shaft will prevent it until you pull it out. Otherwise, yes it will til the pedals hit the side frames.
