2010 Crawler Engine

Post by ironyetty » Wed Oct 18, 2006 6:54 pm

I recently found out why my 2010 was using water, turns out the head was cracked and the gasket had blown. Now I am stuck with a delima? I found a repaired head for $750 and have already bought all the gaskets to replace but on the other hand I found a guy who says he has a gas motor out of a combine that will work for $750.
Can anyone tell me what would be my best bet to go ahead and fix the head on the diesel or put a gas motor in.

How does the gas motor run and does it have comparable power to the diesel?

Thanks in advance,

Cliff

The gas will not have the torque of the diesel. Additionally, you will need a lot more than just an engine, you may need radiator, most likely will need a different exhaust manifold, hood, fuel lines, throttle linkage, and a few other things that I can not think of right now. It is not a simple throw it in deal, it will take some work, and a gas parts crawler to rob stuff off of.
