Throttle spring

Post by Seth » Sat Oct 28, 2017 5:35 pm

Sooo, I cleaned the carb on the ol mc, and it runs great. I also sprayed pb blaster on the throttle lever and was marveling at how well it worked when I heard a sickening ping and the spring on the throttle linkage above the radiator came flying out from under the hood. Can you guys tell me what the correct name for this is? As I don't have any parts manuals yet, which leads to my second question. Are the manuals on eBay any good? I can get the parts and service manuals for around 80 bucks. Are they any good? They are supposedly reprints of the originals.

What you need is called a throttle control rod spring. The manuals you describe may be original reprints. They have the best information by far of any manuals out there but some of the reprints of the service manuals don't have the photo clarity of the originals. With that said I still would rather have the Deere info rather any other aftermarket manual.LuckJimAnderson
