Model 831 loader on 440IC

Post by pfish » Fri Nov 17, 2017 9:03 am

I want to rebuild the four hydraulic cylinders on the loader, they don't leak but settle during operation. I have the spanner nut off of all four, the service manual says I need to tap the threaded end back slightly to remove the snap ring. I cannot get the end to move back into the cylinder, suspect it is corroded. I have hit it hard using a wood block and heavy hammer. Anyone have hints on getting the ends loose so I can pull the rams out?

Light heat, not enough to vaporize and cause the oil to explode.
