Looking for Track Parts For 440IC

Post by wrenchead » Wed Oct 25, 2006 5:52 am

Hey everybody,

I've just aquired a 1958 440IC and the tracks are shot!

Ser# on the machine is 441958

From what I've been reading in the forum it looks like I'm going to have a hard time finding front idlers wheels and sprokets.

I contacted the Berco dealer and he said I could get the chains and grousers but still no luck on the front idler wheels.

He also said that I could get weld on sprockets. Has anybody ever had any luck with these weld on sprokets?????

Also he said I could only get 14" grousers and mine are 4 bolt 12" grousers. He said I could cut them down.

Am I in for an expensive nightmare or should I just part the old girl out?

Bottom and top rollers

Post by wrenchead » Wed Oct 25, 2006 7:41 am

Are the bottom and top rollers also hard to come by????
Is $1325.00 a good price for a 36 link chain with 14"grousers that I would have to cut down to 12" to fit my 440??? This price is per side.
The weld on sproket rims are $105.00 ea.

Still looking for front Idlers and praying to God that I won't break the bank trying to bring this old track back to the dirt.

Andrew,

I haven't actually bought the tracks yet. This was only what the Berco dealer was telling me.

The price for the chains without the grousers was about $825.00 per side.

Are your Friends grousers Brand New?

Brian
