Laser tachometer

Post by JD440ICD2006 » Sat Oct 28, 2006 10:00 pm

I would like to thank the poster (I forgot who it was) that recommended the laser tachometer. I used it today and it works great. It is the only way I found to set the RPM on a GM 2-53 since there is no way to connect a mechanical tach without modifications.

laser who?

Post by emichaelhaynes » Sun Oct 29, 2006 2:22 am

yeah, who was that masked man?

hooked up my alternator driven tach finally. verified with laser tach at high rpm (above 900). However, small stock pulleys on the 2-53 make low rpm tach operation very iffy. added a single wire kit to the alternator when i added the tach output which "helps" low end turnon. also added a definite low end turnoff. two steps forward, one step back...
