A quick Google search found a post from 2012 that says 600lbs per track. Sound right? Trying to figure out if I can carry a set of 5 roller tracks in my Chevy Colorado, or if I need to bring the one ton.

With pads 1500 lbs or more, without pads, about 600, maybe less.

Hi,

Last time we carted 420 5-roller tracks with 12" snow pads we used a 3/4 ton pickup and it was down quite a bit in the back end. So, I would choose to use the 1-ton truck myself.

Thanks, I took the one ton and I'm glad, they would have been too mich for my little truck. Now have a decent set of spare tracks and a nice set of sprockets.

One track will need a couple pins and bushings but the other looks good. The rails are almost 1/4" higher than the ones I have on now.

Hi,

Sounds like a worthwhile trip. A quarter inch doesn't sound like much when you first say it, but once you think about how they work, it is quite a bit. :)

Agreed. Tracks werent quite as nice as I was hoping but the price was decent enough. Need to stretch them out tonight and get a wear measurement. Bushings show almost no external wear but pads have some side to side slop.
