#61 blade mount left side

Post by Seth » Tue Jul 03, 2018 1:23 pm

Does anyone have a left side blade mount for a #61 blade ? Or at least a diagram and measure ments so I can make one. Seems mine has walked off. Some scraping tweaker figured they needed it more than me.

I think the dozer blade on my 40 is a #61. I have a parts book and can measure the part you need. Which part of the mount do you need, the long arm that runs back to the pivot point? I can take some measurements if it will help.

Hi,

The 40 used the 61. So, that is likely what you have. I say it that way because there was aftermarket stuff and sometimes people mount later blades to older machines....

Yes, it's a couple ft long, I think I can use the right side as a template but I am not sure they are the same because the right side has the lift cylinder on it. I believe they should be the same.

Seth,
I too a look at mine this morning. Not sure which piece you are referring to but the side pieces of the lifting frame are both the same length-22" overall and 20" center to center but they are an integral part of the lifting frame so that's probably not what you need. Maybe if you can give me a little more detail I can help. I have a parts list/diagram for the 61 and could try to scan it and email it to you if that would help.

My blade doesn't angle, and the mounts on the like don't look like mine. I wonder if mine are home made, it's a mc

This hole things a cluster f#$&k. I have a shed at the end of my yard, I took the blade off to do some repairs to the front idler wheel, it's a big hunck of steel that was sitting next to the tractor. I also had a Lincoln ranger on wheels, my atv and my super cub in the same building... And they run off with the rusty piece of iron.

Most likely an MC60 blade, no 61.

Hi,

MC used the 60 blade, not the 61 (used on 40 and 420). So, that would explain the difference. Also, there was a Toolbar for the MC which could have a dozer blade attached to when in the forward position (Toolbar can be mounted forward or to the rear), but I doubt you have that based on your description. I don't recall that the Toolbar comes apart, just on and off in one piece.

Search on MC60 and see if that matches because it might be a 3rd party made unit equally well. There were lots of folks making things for these machines back in the day.

And, it doesn't make sense why someone wanted that odd piece of steel like that. Maybe they were making a skate or BMX park and will clank body parts into it on a regular basis.....

Stan

Edit: I see Lavoy and I are thinking alike today. :)

I agree. It's probably a 60. Go to the same site and look up the diagram for the 60 and then you will know. If it's anything like my 61 any similarities to the original are purely accidental after 60+ years of haphazard repairs and "improvements". Good luck!!

Sorry for any confusion I thought I had a 61, it's a # 60. Where do you find the parts diagrams, I enter # 60 blade mts and I get lawn mower blades.

Try this link to the old parts catalog site and in the model box enter MC60 and see if it matches your blade. It appears they didn't put the #60 blade in the two newer catalog indexes. If it does you may want to do a print to pdf and save a copy to your computer that way.
